The problem Mrs. Hanley had an attic that wasn't enough insulated. There were less than 10 in. of cellulose fibers in her attic which was equivalent to an R-38 value. The air circulation was almost non-existent which made the attic very humid. The solution Remove the cellulose, seal air leaks on the attic floor such as seams and holes with our polyurethane foam, add ventilation mats to improve air circulation, and then blow a little over 16" of cellulose fibers.

Our client in Saint-Lazare, Quebec, contacted us about concerns with their attic's condition before winter. After inspecting the attic, we discovered excessive humidity and air leaks, which were compromising the home’s energy efficiency and increasing heating costs. We addressed the issue by removing the old insulation, sealing air leaks, and installing TruSoft cellulose insulation to ensure optimal energy efficiency and protection against moisture.

When mold started to form in his attic, our client contacted us as he was concerned about the potential health risks and damage to his home. We safely removed the old, rotting insulation before neutralizing all the mold spores present in the attic. Next, we sealed all identified air leaks, using our high-quality ZypFoam to ensure a perfect seal. Finally, we installed the new cellulose insulation, ensuring it reached the desired R60 thermal value. This high level of insulation would significantly improve the attic’s thermal performance.

A homeowner contacted us regarding issues with cold air infiltration and elevated energy consumption, which indicated a deficiency in the attic’s thermal insulation. Upon thorough inspection, we identified the existing insulation as inadequate, and further detected mold growth on the wooden rafters and underneath the insulation layer, attributed to insufficient ventilation and moisture entrapment. To address these deficiencies, we commenced by removing the compromised insulation to expose the full extent of air leakage points. We applied Mold-X2, a specialized mold treatment, to completely eradicate the spores from the wooden structure. Subsequently, we used ZypFoam to precisely seal all air leaks, effectively preventing future energy loss and air drafts. Finally, we installed 17 inches of TruSoft cellulose insulation, achieving a thermal resistance value of R60. This upgrade significantly enhanced the attic’s energy efficiency, providing improved thermal regulation and moisture protection. The homeowner expressed satisfaction with the resulting increase in home comfort and the anticipated reduction in energy expenses.
