Cellulose Insulation Upgrade in Ellington, CT

This attic had poorly installed fiberglass batts insulation and several concerning areas for air leakage. The area was sealed with a sprayable orange foam and then our Trusoft cellulose insulation was installed. Both of these products combined will stop conditioned or heated air from escaping, eliminating drafts. Another important benefit of our Trusoft insulation is that it's fire retardant due to the treatment of natural borate compounds. Those same compounds prevent the presence of insects, rodents and mold!

Attic Air Sealing in Naugatuck, CT

This home was an unfortunate example of the effects of poor insulation. Heat passes all too easily through a poorly insulated attic. In the winter, heated interior air rises naturally by convection and escapes into the attic through numerous air leaks. Conductive heat loss through the cold ceiling makes rooms directly beneath the attic even colder. The problem reverses on a hot summer day, as attic temperatures rise to the 140-degree range and heat moves into your living space. When the owners realized the problem they called the experts at Dr. Energy Saver Connecticut.

We set to work immediately, sealing air leaks with expanding polyurethane foam. This prepared the attic for blown in cellulose insulation. This insulation process can potentially cut the heating and cooling costs of this home by up to 40%!

Garage Ceiling Insulation in Waterbury, CT

This Waterbury, CT homeowner was looking to change the insulation in his garage. There were fiberglass batts insulating it, which are only effective when installed perfectly. Unfortunately, the previous installers left gaps between the batts and the interior wall, which allows air to flow in. They needed a solution! So, they gave us a call at Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut to come fix the problem!

Our Energy Specialist, Chris Grosso, came out and was able to offer a fool proof solution to their problem. He sent Rudy Abel and his Comfort Crew out to install dense-packed cellulose insulation between the garage ceiling and floor. We accessed the bays through holes drilled on the external walls of the house, and injected the dense-packing cellulose in the cavities with powerful equipment. This garage will no longer be a burden to this homeowner!

Spray Foam Home Insulation in Woodbridge, CT

This Woodbridge homeowner was experiencing uneven temperatures that were making her home uncomfortable. She did some research and decided to call the efficiency experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to help her find a solution.

The solution for this Woodbridge home was to install spray foam insulation to the attic framing. Traditional fiberglass insulation was not sufficient in protecting this home because it would still allow unwanted air to flow through the attic. This resulted in uneven temperatures throughout the home. Spray foam insulation is a high-performance thermal barrier and stops air leakage, making the home more energy efficient. This is exactly what the homeowner needed and she was very impressed with the results. Now, she enjoys a much more energy efficient home!

Blown Cellulose Attic Insulation in West Haven, CT

This West Haven home had little to no insulation in the attic. This was causing the entire home to have uncomfortable, uneven temperatures. The homeowner wanted to find a solution to make her home warmer and more energy efficient, so she decided to call Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut to help find her a solution.

The solution for this West Haven attic was to install blown-in cellulose insulation. Blown cellulose is effective because it offers superior R-value than traditional fiberglass batts and will immediately improve energy efficiency in the home. This insulation can also be adjusted for homeowners who use their attic for storage, like this West Haven homeowner. In the after photo, you can see that the blown cellulose was installed behind plywood dams to create a catwalk, allowing for attic access and storage space. The homeowner was impressed with the product and how much of an improvement it made with the efficiency of the home. This is exactly what she wanted and she couldn't be happier!
