After removing all of the old insulation from their roof, our expert foreman, Ken Hartsburg, came out with his team, and began to get to work. They quickly installed our closed cell spray foam all over the roof of this colonial home. This type of insulation adds strength to framing and sheathing, and seals off any air filtration, forming a moisture barrier. It cures dense and hard just minutes after application, and while our team does wear special equipment during installation, it is completely safe for both families and pets after installed.
We left this family knowing they would have smaller energy bills, and a more comfortable home! Call us today for your FREE energy evaluation!
Before, this Bloomfield homeowner had little insulation in his attic, which caused major discomfort. The rooms in his home had uneven temperatures and his electric bill was consistently high every month. He wanted to make his home energy efficient, so he contacted the professionals at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to help make that possible.
After one of the professionals at Dr. Energy Save of Connecticut visited the owner's home and deliberated with the owner, they decided to seal the entire attic and install blown in cellulose. By air sealing the attic, you are preventing any unwanted air from flowing freely through the attic that would otherwise waste the heated/cooled air you pay for. Once air sealed, blown cellulose insulation was installed along with wood dams to create a walkway for service and storage convenience. This type of insulation is superior because it provides a high R-value of R-60 while also being safe and environmentally friendly. After installation, the homeowner noticed a difference with a more reasonable electric bill and that the rooms had even temperatures throughout the home. This is exactly what he wanted and he was happy that he trusted the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT.
One of the most important steps to an attic insulation job is to air seal the attic with expanding polyurethane foam. After that, we can put in the right insulation for the job, which in this case was blown cellulose insulation. Our TruSoft cellulose insulation offers an affordable and effective way to upgrade attic insulation. The homeowners noticed immediate improvements in the comfort and energy costs of the home!
When we arrived in this Glastonbury attic, we found that the existing fiberglass insulation wasn’t keeping warm air from escaping the house in the winter. This unnecessarily drove up heating costs for the homeowners. We removed the ineffective blown fiberglass and fiberglass batts so that we could air seal all of the gaps, seams and holes with expanding polyurethane foam. This sealed off the air flow between the attic and the rest of the house in order to keep the heated air where it belongs. Next we built dams and blew in our TruSoft cellulose insulation. Treated with natural borate compounds, blown cellulose insulation won't catch fire and it discourages the presence of insects, rodents and mold. We insulated the walkway with a layer of 4” SilverGlo, topped with flakeboard. After their attic insulation upgrade, these owners were able to stay more comfortable in the cold weather while seeing a decrease in their energy bills!
When we examined this attic, we found that the existing blown fiberglass and fiberglass batts were allowing heat and air to escape from the conditioned lower levels of the home up through the attic during the winter months. In place of the fiberglass, we installed our TruSoft blown cellulose insulation. This celluose insulation is treated with a natural boric acid solution to make it resistant to fire and unattractive to insects and pests. It is highly resistant to air flow and an excellent choice for attic insulation when preceded by thoroughly air sealing all of the gaps, seams and holes. Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut is pleased to have saved the owners of this home up to 40% on heating and cooling costs!
