Roof Repair Due to Animal Damage in Columbus, OH

A homeowner in Columbus, OH, reached out for an estimate after discovering a hole in the roof, likely caused by animals. With the age of the roof unknown but covered in asphalt shingles, the damage needed immediate attention to prevent further issues. Upon inspection, we determined that the best approach was to replace the bottom three feet of shingles on the front slope and replace the damaged decking as necessary.

To properly restore the affected area, we carefully cut out the compromised decking 2-3 feet up, ensuring only the damaged section was addressed rather than the entire eave. Three sheets of OSB were included in the quote, but if only two were needed, the unused sheet would be removed at the end of the job. A new drip edge metal was installed to reinforce the repair and prevent future water infiltration. The materials for the repair were placed on the front porch for easy access during the project. The homeowner can now feel confident that their roof is secure and protected against further animal damage.
