Although the expected lifespan was up to 5 years, there are visible signs of wear, including a spot on the ceiling and a section missing roofing. Despite no leaking issues yet, the homeowner is proactive in addressing the situation before it worsens. 

A homeowner in Columbus, OH, reached out to repair roof damage caused by a recent storm. With attic access limited due to a closet with shelves, a detailed exterior inspection revealed the areas in need of repair. To restore the roof and provide long-term durability, we proposed a targeted solution using high-quality materials.

The repair includes the application of Dynasty Architectural Shingles in Granite Black, a heavy-duty option designed for enhanced durability. These shingles feature a tear-resistant Armour Zone strip, a larger nailing surface, and Fastlock sealant, creating a strong bond for maximum protection against future storms. They also come with a 130 MPH wind warranty and a weight of 231 pounds per square, ensuring both strength and style.

Additionally, we will install two rows of Klaus Roofing Systems’ Sealoron XT Ice & Water Barrier for added protection. This barrier will extend 6 feet from all eaves, wrapping 1 inch over the fascia board, and will be applied 3 feet in valleys and 18 inches around chimneys, skylights, dormers, and other roof penetrations. These measures will help prevent water infiltration and extend the life of the repaired sections of the roof.

This repair will not only address the immediate storm damage but also reinforce the roof for future weather conditions, giving the homeowner peace of mind.
