This Dover, DE home had a weathered crawlspace entrance that allowed for air and moisture to enter into the home through the dirt crawlspace. This helped to reduce the amount of energy used to heat and cool the home. A CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation would help to further eliminate dust, allergens, moisture, bugs, and microbial growth from entering into the home.

Even though this attic appears to be well insulated the homeowners still dealt with uncomfortable conditions in their home year round.  After meeting with one of our Certified Home Comfort Specialists, these homeowners decided to upgrade their attic with our SilverGlo rigid foam board insulation.  Infused with graphite in the foam that acts as tiny heat reflectors, the R-value of SilverGlo is 24% higher than standard EPS foam making the home that much more comfortable and efficient.  Just so the insulation doesn't have to do all of the work alone, SilverGlo has radiant barrier on both sides which reflect heat taking it's efficiency level even higher.

Are all of your home's exhaust fans properly vented? These Dover, DE homeowners complained of cold floors.  Part of the issue stemmed from an under-insulated cantilever.  While preparing to replace the standard batted fiberglass with a much more energy efficient rigid foam board insulation with radiant barrier named SilverGlo, our crew discovered a bathroom exhaust duct which had never been properly vented.  If left alone the unvented exhaust could have caused these homeowners grief in the future.  Our crew not only replaced their old insulation with the state of the art SilverGlo, but they also created a way for the exhaust to be properly vented.  A vent cover was attached to the soffit that lined up perfectly with the exhaust duct when put back into place.  

The owners of this Dover, DE home dealt with uncomfortable conditions in their home even though it would seem that they had enough insulation. The insulation fills the cavities in walls so that must be the highest R-Value, right? Wrong! Standard batted fiberglass with an R-Value of 19 is about 6.5" thick. Homeowners in Hebron, Maryland were dealing with high humidity inside of their crawlspace. Usually, the relative humidity inside of a crawlspace should range in between 45%-60% in RH(relative humidity). This range determines if your crawlspace is too dry or has to much air moisture leading to sweaty, damp, and smelly insulation.

These homeowners called out Dr. Energy Saver to fix their issue. During the inspection of his crawlspace, we measured the RH at 73.5% which caused his crawlspace to become potentially an area for microbial growth. We resolved this issue before any damages were done by installing our SaniDry dehumidifier.

This will result in the humidity levels to drop and remain constant and a healthy, dry, and odorless crawlspace. These homeowners were thrilled at the results.
