We are excited to welcome Timothy "Tim" Herlihy to the Cowleys family! Tim joined Cowleys in January 2023 as one of our Pest Control Technicians and has over 5 years of experience in the pest control industry! Although Tim was satisfied at his previous company, he was seeking a close-knit family-run pest services company where he could be given increasing responsibilities and a variety of assignments with a growing, innovative company. One day, he saw a Help Wanted ad for Cowleys on Facebook, and the rest is history!

For fun, Tim loves to explore the outdoors, fish, and cook a beautiful meal for his family. He's also an avid Mets fan and a die-hard Eagles fan and loves taking his son to the game!

Digger bees are solitary, non-social wasps and each hole is a separate, independent nest of digger bees. The females dig these half-inch to one-inch deep burrows to nest and raise young. A key indication of a digger bee infestation is the multiple pencil-sized dirt mounds across a lawn.
The carpenter ants were coming from a small gap inside the tree. We also found a mix of carpenter ant workers and carpenter ant swarmers. These pests excavate wood in order to build their galleries (nests).
As you can see, there were multiple ant hills throughout the backyard.
We also found a lot of spider webs in the eaves and corners of the home.
We're going to apply a granular bait across the yard and then soak every single digger bee mound with a liquid residual. Both of these treatments will rapidly exterminate the digger bees.
As we inspected the home we found multiple rat burrows around the foundation.
You'll realize you have a digger bee infestation when you find little mounds of soil with a pencil-sized hole in it. Digger bees are solitary bees that live one colony per hole, but there may be many holes in an area creating a digger bee community.
Mud daubers are solitary insects that are about ¾ to 1 inch in length and can vary in coloration from all black, blackish blue, or black with yellow markings. They create a nest using saliva and mud.
