We received a service call to take a look at this customer's old, leaking, oil-burning, water heater. After offering the customer both repair and replacement options, they decided that it was time for a newer, more energy-efficient unit! This Lansing, NY water heater replacement job included a new 60 gallon hybrid heat pump water heater, which works by drawing in heat from the ambient air to keep the water hot. This new heat pump water heater can max out at up to 250% efficiency, while oil-burning units are at best 87% energy-efficient.
This Lansing, NY customer contacted Halco for a home energy audit after reading about the no-cost service in the Halco Herald newsletter. From the audit and recommendations, the customer had her old, inefficient water heater replaced with this new, high-efficiency water heater. Along with the new unit, this customer also had some insulation and air sealing work done to ensure a comfortable and warm winter season!
This Lansing, NY customer’s existing, natural draft water heater was filled with hard minerals. Halco technicians removed the existing tank and replaced it with a high-efficiency Navien tankless water heater. Because the water heater was in the middle of the basement, we had our shop pre-fab a stand for the tankless unit. The customer was very happy with the completed job and signed up for a Halco Maintenance Agreement to keep her tankless water heater in tip-top shape for years to come!
This was a new Halco customer that contacted us because her AC unit was not working properly and was blowing warm air. The customer's home had gotten up to 84 degrees, and she was especially concerned because she had an infant in the home. The Halco tech cleaned the unit and performed a tune-up on the system. He also replaced the contactor. Upon completion, the unit started and ran properly.
