Whitney Point, NY - Closed Cell Spray Foam

This Whitney Point, NY mobile home had some of the Fiberglass batts on the underside of the home falling down, which was causing drafts. We proposed to fix the small section that was falling down, then spray 2 inches of our Closed Cell Spray Foam to the underside of the mobile home to eliminate drafts and make a nice, comfortable air tight seal that the homeowner could enjoy a more fuel and energy-efficient home.

Blown in Tru-Soft Insulation - Whitney Point, NY

These homeowners in Whitney Point, NY were concerned about their energy bills being so high and wanted to figure out why and how to reduce them best, so they gave us the call to come and do a free Home Energy Assessment to their home. Our Certified Home Comfort Specialist was able to show them what was going on in the house and why they were losing so much heat through the attic space, and also had a plan laid out to help the homeowners understand why it was happening and how to fix it best.

They had some old fiberglass batts in the attic that were extremely dirty due to windwashing - making the fiberglass essentially a big filter for the dirt and dust particles, as there was no air sealing done in the attic to stop leaky air from escaping the home. We proposed to help make their home more comfortable and energy efficient by first air sealing the attic - which included sealing around can light fixtures, wiring penetrations, etc. in order to make a tighter envelope in the home after we removed the old, nasty insulation that wasn't doing much to insulate the home in the first place. We then did an open blow of 14 inches of our Tru-Soft Cellulose insulation to the attic flat. We also sealed the rim joists of the basement with our Closed Cell spray foam to stop the leaking of air into the basement space bringing the cold air into the home.

Whitney Point, NY - Dense Pack Cellulose

This home in Whitney Point, NY needed insulation in the walls.

Our solution was to dense pack 4 inches of cellulose into the walls from the outside.  Siding was removed, holes were drilled to fit our hoses and cellulose was blown in to fill the space in the walls.  The holes were sealed and the siding was reattached.  This measure plus other measures we took made a great improvement in the comfort and energy efficiency of this home.
