A resident of Lindenhurst was having comfort issues in their home. After an assessment it was discovered that one of the issues was their attic knee wall had little to no insulation. A knee wall space is created when a finished room is built within a sloped roof. A short wall called a “knee wall” forms a triangular space. With little to no insulation the floor of the upper level, the ceiling of the lower level and the knee wall are all cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Triple H insulated this Knee Wall with 10” Blown-In Cellulose. Also added Blocks of SilverGlo foam insulation on the walls. With this being done, this customer will have a significantly warmer upstairs in the winter, cooler rooms in the summer and less drafts. Overall this home will be more comfortable.
This customer from Lindenhurst, NY was having problems with cold floors above his crawl space which was also causing the rooms to be cold. After an evaluation it was determined that he needed new insulation on the ceiling of his crawl space. The crawl space of this home was not properly insulated and was being exposed to the outside air. When the outside air flows under a floor it feels very cold and uncomfortable in the winter. Triple H went in and removed the old batt insulation (which does not prevent air leaks) and added expanding spray foam. The spray foam fills all voids, gaps, and odd shapes to stop the air from flowing through the floor. Now the floors and rooms will be much warmer and a more comfortable home.
A homeowner from Lindenhurst, NY contacted Triple H that their attic insulation was done in the past, but not done well as they still feel drafty and cold. Our home comfort consultant Ryan performed a free evaluation of their home. Upon completion Ryan was able to provide a solution to improve the attic insulation. Triple H removed and disposed of the existing insulation in the attic, then the team air sealed and insulated the attic floor with 5” of TruSoft cellulose. They finished up by installing a layer of 4” SilverGlo along the attic deck. The homeowner will now be more comfortable and their home will be more energy efficient.
This customer in Centerport had multiple comfort concerns about their home. After spending time evaluating the home, it was suggested that this home would benefit from blown in Cellulose insulation in the attic. This customer also uses their attic for storage so we built them a storage platform. This home owner should now be more comfortable and can continue to store items in their attic.
Upon the request of this customer in Dix Hills, we performed an in home evaluation. This customer felt that his rooms were too cold in the winter. By insulating and air sealing the attic properly the customer will be warmer in winter and cooler in the summer.
