A Columbus homeowner contacted us for a roof replacement on their 20-year-old roof, recognizing it was time to upgrade for better protection and durability. Our plan includes tearing off one layer of the existing roofing materials and cleaning up all debris using a magnetic roller to ensure no nails are left behind. All debris will be loaded into a contractor-supplied dumpster and responsibly hauled to the plant for disposal. Before we begin, we advised the homeowner to cover any valuables in the attic area, as dust or debris may fall through the roof boards during the process.
For the replacement, we’ll be installing Dynasty Architectural Shingles in Froststone Grey, a high-performance option with a larger nailing surface, tear-resistant Armour Zone strip, and Fastlock sealant for maximum protection. These shingles offer a 130 MPH wind warranty and a weight of 231 pounds per square, ensuring a durable and secure roof for years to come. The project will also include cutting in a ridge vent on the main roof for improved ventilation, removing the existing hat vents, and retaining the hat vent on the lowest back portion of the roof. The garage roof is not part of this replacement, but the house, including the flat roof, will be fully upgraded. This comprehensive approach ensures the homeowner's peace of mind and a stylish, weather-resistant roof for their Columbus home.

A before and after look at a rubber roof replacement in Upper Arlington, OH. This rubber roof that was above a storage garage was leaking at the seam, causing water damage to the space below. Klaus Roofing of Ohio replaced the rubber roof and also installed new gutters around the perimeter.
After resolving the homeowner's main roof leak, Klaus Roofing of Ohio was asked to tackle their detached garage roof, which had aged beyond repair. The garage roof was a mix of shingled and low-slope areas, both showing clear signs of deterioration. The customer wanted to ensure the low-slope section directed water properly into the gutters and was also concerned about protecting their neighbor’s pool deck and covered pond during the process. Our team removed the old materials, installed IKO Dynasty Frostone Gray shingles for the main section, and Polyglass SBS Slate Gray for the low-slope area. Special attention was given to meet the customer’s drainage concerns. By the end, the homeowner had a brand-new, durable roof that was not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
After a storm below some shingles from the ridge vent of this home, the homeowner called Klaus ROofing of OHio for a solution. We quickly repaired the damaged area to prevent any leaks.
