New Attic Insulation in Winchester, VA

A home in Winchester, VA had an attic with very little insulation. The Comfenergy Crew came out and properly air sealed and insulated the attic. Insulating your attic can help prevent air from escaping the house and stop outside air from coming in. Heating and cooling costs account for up to 50-70 percent of the energy used in an average home.

Can light leakage-Middletown, VA

This Middletown, VA homeonwer was complaining that their top floor was cold and drafty in the winter. Upon a full comfort and energy evaluation by Comfenergy, we determined one of the issues to be leaky can lights in the ceiling.  Each can light is merely a 6" diameter hole that allows heated air to escape, and cold drafts in during the winter.

Rock wool can light covers lessen this leakage and also provide a necessary thermal and ignition barrier from the hot can light to protect against the possibility of fires.

Hot Bedroom-Stephens City, VA

Vertical walls with little/no, or fiberglass insulation on them allow the 130 degree attic heat to radiate through the drywall into a bedroom. SilverGlo foam boards (4" thick) can fix this problem.

Dense Packing a Cathedral Ceiling

Cellulose Insulation was used to dense pack the cathedral ceiling of this cottage that had no insulation in the attic.  We also found a cantilevered section that required dense packing as well.

Front Royal Wall Insulation - Dense Packing

This Front Royal VA home had a detached garage with living space above.  The garage was often too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter.  Our Sales Professional Pedro identified an opportunity to improve those issues by dense packing the walls with insulation.  Our production team removed sections of siding before making hole in the plywood frame of the walls and then used tubes to blow i and pack the insulation into the empty cavities of the wall frame.
