Air Sealing a Metal Chimney with Large Gap in Menasha
Chimneys often have gaps around them to keep flammable materials away from the hot surface. This particular chimney had an exceptionally large gap which was resulting in lots of conditioned air being lost. We properly sealed the area with metal flashing, fire caulk, and SilverGlo insulation to eliminate the energy loss.
