Attic Restoration in Two Homes on Property Using Blown In Fiberglass Insulation in Visalia, CA

For this unique project, the homeowner called us because he had two homes on his property, and both were experiencing high heating and cooling bills and uncomfortable temperatures during extreme heat and cold.

Upon inspection of the attics, we found that both attics had about 5-6 inches of old, dirty insulation. Dirty insulation is an indicator that there is air leakage occurring between the attic and the living spaces of the home.

We began the attic restorations by extracting and disposing of the old insulation in both attics. We then cleaned and sanitized the attics using Nisus DSV sanitizer. This is a concentrated disinfectant, cleaner, mildewstat, fungicide, and sanitizer that kills a broad spectrum of viruses, bacteria, and fungi. Once we had clean areas to work with, we pinpointed all areas where air leakage could occur and sealed those areas with closed-cell foam. This included all top plates, wire and plumbing penetrations, and registers. By sealing the attic, air is prevented from flowing between the attic and the home's living spaces. Additionally, we installed barriers at any potential rodent entry points to prevent them from accessing the attic. We cleared the soffit vents to ensure improved ventilation of the attic spaces.

We then blew in premium, Johns Manville fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches. This provided the Energy Star recommended R38 level of insulation.

Now, both homes on the property enjoy reduced heating and cooling costs, better temperature comfort, and better indoor air quality for the life of the homes.

Attic Restoration - Removal, Air-Sealing, and New Insulation in 940 Sq. Ft. Home in Visalia, CA

Danny contacted us because his home was not only hot and stuffy during the summer, but it would feel freezing during the winter. He was looking for a way to make the temperature in his home more stable, as well as to reduce his heating and cooling costs. We came out and inspected his attic and found that there was virtually no insulation present, maybe about an inch. The attic was also littered with all kinds of debris. We determined that a comprehensive attic restoration was needed to help Danny reach his goals.

We began by removing all of the debris and old insulation. We then used DSV sanitizer to clean the attic and eliminate the irritants and contaminants. Next, we sealed all air leakage points with closed-cell foam. This helps prevent air from moving between the attic and the living spaces of the home. Next, we installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other pests from entering the attic. Lastly, we blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, or 14 inches.

Because of the full attic restoration we performed, Danny will experience better indoor air quality, reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 50%, and a more temperate, comfortable home year-round for as long as he lives there.

Insulation Upgrade to R38 with Premium Fiberglass Blown Into 1300 Sq. Ft. Home in Visalia, CA

The homeowner contacted us during winter because his home felt frigid. He found Tyson through our hundreds of 5-star Google reviews and was impressed by what our customers say about us. We came out and inspected his attic and found that he only had 9 inches of fiberglass insulation present, well below the 14 inches needed for our climate here in the Fresno area. We determined that an insulation upgrade to R38 was the best option for the homeowner to maintain a comfortable temperature in his home while also reducing his heating and cooling costs.

We were in and out within 2 hours. We expertly blew in an additional 5 inches of premium fiberglass insulation, bringing his home to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.

As a result of the insulation upgrade we executed, the homeowner and his family will enjoy a warmer home in winter, a cooler home in summer, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 25% for as long as they live in their home.

Insulation Upgrade and Air-Sealing in 1700 Sq. Ft. House in Visalia, CA

Louis reached out to us because he became aware that his home had little to no insulation and as a result, his home was hot and stuffy. He was looking to make his home more comfortable and also reduce his energy bills. We came out and inspected his attic and found that there was only about 1-2 inches of insulation present, with many areas being bare. There were many places, such as around can lights, where there was significant air leakage. We determined that an insulation upgrade was necessary to help Louis achieve his goals.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points, such as around the can lights, using closed-cell foam. This is done to help prevent air from traveling between the attic and the living spaces of the home. We then blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to a height of 13 inches, bringing the attic to an R38 level, the Energy Star-recommended level.

As a result of the thorough work we did in Louis's attic, his home will now be cool and comfortable during summers, warm during winters, and his heating and cooling costs will be up to 30% lower for the life of his home.

R49 Insulation Upgrade Using Premium, Fiberglass Insulation in 1600 Sq. Ft. Home in Visalia, CA

Mark called Tyson Energy Solutions because he was running his heat constantly in winter and his air conditioner constantly in summer. Despite this, his home still felt uncomfortable year-round. He was looking to achieve a more comfortable home temperature and humidity level while simultaneously reducing his heating and cooling costs. We inspected his attic and found that he had less than 2 inches of insulation present. This was the root cause of his high heating and cooling costs and uncomfortable home. We determined that an insulation upgrade was necessary to help Mark achieve his goals.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points. This is done to help prevent airflow between the attic and the living spaces of the home. We then blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to a height of 16 inches, increasing the protection from heat transfer to an R49 level.

As a result of the insulation upgrade we completed, Mark will now enjoy reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% year-round and a more temperate, comfortable home for as long as he resides there.
