This homeowner in West Springfield, MA called us hoping that we would be able to help him. He had rain coming into his basement through his window wells. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he noted that the window wells had ill-fitting covers and, additionally, did not let light into the basement.
We had the perfect solution for this customer. We were able to help him by installing a SunHouse™ basement window enclosure with a drainage system (not pictured) to prevent flooding. SunHouses™ are sturdy and keep rain and leaves out due to their clear cover, and the bottom reflects natural light into the basement due to its light color.
Now, this homeowner is much happier with their window wells!
This homeowner in West Springfield, MA called us hoping that we would be able to help her with the house she shares with her mother. She needed new insulation and had some issues with mold in their three-season room. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he noted that there was a small space above their three-season room that had not been insulated previously, and was not accessible previously.
We were able to help this homeowner! We started by getting access to the space above the three season room. Once we had access, we went around the room, air sealing all cracks and gaps in the floor of the space. This air sealing was done using our Zypfoam™ one part spray foam. After that, we insulated that space using blown-in TruSoft™ cellulose insulation. This was blown into the space using a long hose. Blown-in TruSoft™ insulation is able to fill all gaps and odd-shaped voids, meaning that there is a consistent blanket of insulation. Now, this homeowner will have a much more comfortable home!
This homeowner had old wooden door in the basement that let air in. So we replaced it with a new thick steal so no air would get through.
This homeowner in East Hampton, CT called us with water issues in his home. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he noted that there was an inadequate sump pump already in the home that needed to be replaced.
In order to help this customer, we first had to remove the ineffective sump pump and the pipes that were attached to it. We then set to work replacing it. We replaced it with our TripleSafe™ sump pump. This sump pump features three pumps! The first pump is a 1/3 hp, cast iron Zoeller pump that can pump up to 2200 gallons per hour, 8 feet high. Should the first pump fail or not be able to keep up with the temporary heavy flow of water, a 1/2 hp AC back-up pump on a separate discharge line can pump 3900 gallons of water per hour. If the power fails, then a third, battery operated "UltraSump" pump automatically pumps up to 12,000 gallons of water out of the basement.
Now, this homeowner will have peace of mind that he has three pumps keeping his basement dry!
This homeowner in Florence, MA called us hoping that we would be able to help with her attic. She had recently purchased the home, which had vermiculite insulation. This was removed due to the fact that it had asbestos in it.
We were able to help this customer! As there was no insulation when we began working in the attic due to the removal of vermiculite that had taken place, we were able to immediately begin air sealing, making sure that all cracks and crevices were sealed. We used Zypfoam™ one part spray foam to air seal. We then used a long hose attached to a machine that blows our TruSoft™ cellulose insulation into the attic. TruSoft™ cellulose is able to fill all gaps and odd-shaped voids, as it is blown in insulation.
Now, this homeowner is able to enjoy her new home!
