This homeowner wanted his home to be more energy efficient and comfortable year round. The gaps in the framing allow a lot of air to leak into the home. Our team used our two part expandable spray foam to seal and insulate all the gaps in the rim joist stopping the air leakage into the basement. The floors in the rooms above the basement will be warmer and the rooms will be more comfortable year round. This home will be easier to heat in the winter and cool in the summer.
These home owners in Enfield, CT called us out because the were very uncomfortable up stairs in their home. This particular home is a cape cod construction home. While they are good for storage, they are very very inefficient. One of the areas of the home that make it inefficient is the kneewalls. To fix this we put in our Super Kneewall treatment. This consist of blocking the floor cavities below so cold air cannot get into the floor. Next we put up runs of our 4" silverglo foam board insulation all along the slopes to give it some much need R-value. Now these Kneewalls are insulated and air sealed. These homeowners can now live more comfortable in their home!
This home owner in Enfield, CT called us out to see if we could reduce the dryness in her home. Our homes get dry because of the dry air in the winter season. To help reduce the dryness, one of the things we did was install a basement door. First thing we do is rip out the old door and framing. Then we put in pressure treated wood for a frame and install the door. We air seal the gaps and finish it off with some nice trim. This door will now help remedy the dryness problem in this home!
