This home in Ft. Washingtion, MD was experiencing cold drafts and high energy bills this winter. There was not enough insulation in their Attic!

We performed a home energy audit to identify all the areas in the home that were leaking air. We air sealed all of the cracks and holes to prevent air leakage in the future. We also added more blown-in cellulose insulation in the attic to provide a warmer, more comfortable, and less drafty home.

The owners of this home in Fort Washington, Maryland were receiving high energy bills this winter and wanted to make their home more energy efficient to lower the bills. They called Complete Home Solutions to find a solution to the energy crisis. Our Auditor determined that the source of the energy waste was insufficient attic insulation. 

Our Production Team used blown in cellulose insulation to bring the insulation levels to the recommended Dr. Energy Saver levels. This made the home more energy efficient and brought the energy bills to a lower cost.

Allison called Complete Home Solutions for one of our Home Energy Audits after she had noticed the temperature in the second floor was much different than the temperature on the first floor. The Audit examines multiple factors of your home to determine ways you could keep it more comfortable, as well as help it run more efficiently. Following the audit, our Home Comfort Specialist determined that a big cause of the uncomfortable upstairs temperatures was due to the condition of the attic. On the day of the installation, our Home Comfort Technicians worked their magic once again, air sealing any cracks in the attic floor, and around any recessed light that would be allowing heat to escape and cold air to make its way in. They then blew in a new layer of Cellulose insulation that would create a barrier in the attic that traps the warm air where it belongs, in the home, not the attic.

Gerald had used Complete Home Solutions in the past to address comfort issues throughout the top level of his split level Fort Washington, MD home. Our Home Comfort Specialist suggested 2 steps making his home less drafty and more comfortable.  One recommendation was to remove the old boards and batt insulation from the soffit and replace it with spray foam insulation and new soffit boards.  This process will create an air tight barrier, preventing any external temperatures from making its way into the home.
