This customer had a common area in the upstairs portion of her house. She wished she could use it more, but it was so uncomfortable that it made it hard to stay there for too long. Hoping to find a solution for her uncomfortable room, this homeowner looked for someone to come out and diagnose her problem. She heard about Complete Home Solutions and our great reputation from a friend and decided to give us a try.
Our Home Comfort Specialist found the problem when he took a trip up into the attic. He found some insulation that was rather old and had big gray spots (indicating air leakage). He brushed aside the insulation to see what the floor of the attic looked like...it was barren. This would explain why our customer's room was so uncomfortable - there was way too much air flow happening in the attic. With some caulk, spray foam, and blown in cellulose insulation, we were able to fix this attic. Now this homeowner can hang out or entertain all she wants in her upstairs living room!
This homeowner living in Harwood, Maryland was dreading the cold winter winter season that is coming up because she knew that her home wasn't going to be able to keep her warm. She remembered hearing about our company, Complete Home Solutions, and was willing to give us a try.
We were able to come out to her home and perform a Home Energy Audit. We discovered that her attic was one of the main reasons that her home couldn't hold heat. The insulation that was already installed was just not cutting it. In order to fix this, we performed a variety of upgrades, but the most important ones involved air sealing and insulation. We had to first construct what we call an "insulation dam" around the attic hatch opening to create a barrier. Afterwards, we were able to insulate exposed knee-wall areas with Polyiso Foam Board and install 8" of TruSoft cellulose insulation. Together, these upgrades were able to make a drastic difference. In the few cold nights that we've already had, the homeowner was able to feel completely comfortable in her own home.
This homeowner in Harwood, MD called Complete Home Solutions after seeing a promotion for a no cost A/C tune-up that was available from his utility company. Following a visit from one of our HVAC Technicians to conduct the tune-up, it was suggested that this system from 1993 was well past its prime. Our technician's suggestion was to upgrade to a new system that would not only keep his home more comfortable but would also use much less energy, saving him on utilities each month.
On the day of the installation, our team removed the old system and replaced it with a brand new Ruud system that is better suited to help cool this single family home. He already notices the system running less than before, and cant wait to see how well it performs during the hot summer months.

Dan's home in Harwood, MD had a called Complete Home Solutions to conduct a tune-up on his A/C system. During the tune-up our HVAC technicians informed him about the other services that we offer, including crawl space encapsulations, and called for a FREE estimate. Following a visit from one of our trained Home Comfort Specialist, it was recommended that he sealed the walls and vents of the crawl space with our 2 part closed cell spray foam. With a floor of the crawl space being concrete, a full encapsulation and vapor barrier were not necessary, however by spray foaming the walls and covering the vents the outside air is now completely trapped outside the crawl space and cannot make its way into the house.
Dan has noticed an immediate improvement in the temperature of his floors throughout the first level of his home.
