Maxine called Complete Home Solutions for one of our Home Energy Audits after she had noticed the temperature in the second floor was much different than the temperature on the first floor. The Audit examines multiple factors of your home to determine ways you could keep it more comfortable, as well as helping it run more efficiently. Following the audit our Home Comfort Specialist determined that a big cause of the uncomfortable upstairs temperatures were due to the condition of the attic. On the day of the install our Home Comfort Technicians worked their magic once again, air sealing any cracks in the attic floor, and around any recessed light that would be allowing heat to escape and cold air to make its way in. They then blew in a new layer of Cellulose insulation that would created a barrier in the attic that traps the warm air where it belongs, in the home not the attic.

Anita called Complete Home Solutions to determine what was causing cold floors throughout the first floor of her home. Upon examination, it was determined that the conditions of the home crawl space were to blame, and a full encapsulation was in order. On the day of the installation, our Home Comfort Technicians began by removing all of the old batt insulation from the floor joist above, before laying down our 20mill CleanSpace vapor barrier, which when bolted to the wall creates a seal on the ground of the crawls space, making sure moisture and critters can not make their way in from below. They then sprayed the area with our 2 part closed cell spray foam insulation on all of the exterior walls. The final step to this encapsulation was to install a dehumidifier which was set to a consistent 50-55% humidity. Anita noticed a difference even in mild fall temperatures and can't wait to feel the warmth this winter.

Chris stumbled upon Complete Home Solutions at a local home show, and after talking to one of our Home Comfort Specialist, was very interested in having a Home Energy Audit to determine ways he could be saving on utilities each month, while also making his home more comfortable. After a full Home Energy Audit was completed by one of our Home Comfort Specialist, it was determined that the insulation levels in Nick's house could also be improved to help with comfort and efficiency. On the day of the job, our Home Comfort Technicians began air sealing the attic with fire block spray foam.  The spray foam is applied to our recessed light covers, top plates, and any outlets in the attic to ensure that the air you pay to heat or cool stays in the living space of your home. The next step in this attic was to vent the bath fans out through the roof. If your fans are not vented properly, it can create moisture issues in your attic. The final step of this attic project was to blow in new Cellulose insulation, which creates a 16 inch barrier between the attic condition and the rest of your home. As you can see in this picture, we install rulers throughout the attic to show our customers just how much of a difference our insulation makes.

This homeowner was really interested in finding ways to make their home more energy efficient (specifically to help lower their utility bills and increase home comfort). They hired Complete Home Solutions to help them achieve this goal. 

We took on two primary projects to do this: the attic and the crawlspace. The picture here shows you how we treated the crawlspace. We removed and replaced the old damaged insulation & vapor barrier and air sealed around the walls & vents. This stops that cold, musty air from filtering into the living space, which is an essential part in accomplishing energy efficiency.
