Recently, this homeowner in Freehold, NJ had a severe issue with bats in his attic. Fortunately, our Wildlife Division safely removed all the bats out of the attic and then excluded the area to prevent future intrusions from not just bats, but all nuisance wildlife and birds as well. Unfortunately, there was a bigger issue that needed to be addressed.
The insulation throughout the attic was saturated with bat guano and needed to be removed ASAP. If not, there are several health concerns that could arise from the bat droppings, such as Histoplasmosis. Histoplasmosis is a disease that primarily affects the lungs and can be life-threatening, particularly to those with a weakened immune system. It is transmitted when a person inhales spores from the fungus that grows on bat droppings.
First, we carefully disposed of all the contaminated insulation and disinfected the entire attic. Next, we added approximately 12 inches of blown-in Tru-Soft Cellulose attic insulation. The cellulose insulation creates a thermal barrier to help keep the home more comfortable and energy-efficient and the cellulose insulation will fill the attic to the recommended insulation levels.
Now, not only is the attic disinfected and the bats are removed, but now, because of the cellulose insulation, the homeowner will save a lot of money on his energy bill.
A homeowner in Toms River, NJ had a mouse infestation in his attic. One of our pest control technicians quickly & efficiently resolved the infestation, and all potential entry points were properly sealed. However, mice were not the only problem. The insulation was not only torn and shredded but was saturated with urine and droppings. When the pellets dry, microscopic spores are then released into the air, which is a health hazard for the home’s occupants. The urine odors are often so strong that they permeate through the entire house.
First, we carefully removed all the contaminated insulation and then vacuumed and disinfected the attic. This homeowner in Bayville, NJ was fed up with his attic getting uncomfortably cold in the winter and unbearably hot in the summer, so after seeing one of our Ads in a magazine, he called our office for a free inspection.
After inspecting the area and discussing different options with the owner, he decided that the best course of action would be to add blown-in cellulose insulation. So we arrived, removed all the fiberglass insulation and debris out of his attic, and added over 10 inches of TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation.

These Beachwood, NJ homeowners had a colony, or cloud, of bats nesting in their attic for quite a while. Although there was no longer an active bat infestation, the bats left behind a toxic mess of guano (bat droppings).
We removed all the contaminated insulation and added approximately 10" of fresh new TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation. TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation has a higher R-value than standard fiberglass insulation, has the highest Class-1 fire safety rating, is resistant to mold and pests, and is eco-friendly! Not to mention, heating and cooling systems of a home have to work double-time to replace lost air during temperature fluctuations when insulation isn't present. The result is almost always going to be an expensive energy bill. Blown-in cellulose insulation maximizes home comfort and optimizes energy usage for year-round peace and savings.
After seeing us perform work at her neighbors house, this homeowner in Beachwood, NJ called our office inquiring about having her attic insulated. After inspecting her attic space and noticing that there was barely any insulation in the attic, we determined that the best course of acting would be to add 10 inches of TruSoft blow-in cellulose insulation. TruSoft cellulose insulation is a safe, non-toxic type of insulation that is 85% composed of recycled material. This method of “blown-in” or “open blow” cellulose is the process of loosely spraying the material into the attic or wall cavities to create a dense, insulated space to slow air flow. Our cellulose insulation is also non-flammable as well as rodent and mold/mildew resistant, making it an all-around benefit to the attic!
