Binghamton, NY - Closed Cell Spray Foam in Attic

This home in Binghamton, NY had Fiberglass batts in the attic, which we know is generally inadequate for keeping the air out. Essentially, the fiberglass batt insulation acts more like an air filter (which is why it gets so dingy and dirty rather than keeping it's yellow or pink color) allowing the cold or hot air depending on the time of year escape, or filter in.

First, we removed the Fiberglass batts. Then we air sealed the rim joists, top plates and other necessary areas in the attic space. We then sprayed 3 inches of our closed cell spray foam to the attic roof deck. This will ensure a nicely insulated home that is more comfortable and more energy efficient.

Binghamton, NY - New Construction Spray Foam

This homeowner was building their dream home, and wanted to ensure that the home would be energy efficient and well insulated. We proposed to spray 3 inches of our closed cell spray foam to the roof deck, as well as the rim joists to ensure a tight seal to the home. 3 inches of closed cell spray foam was also sprayed into the interior walls of the second floor. The end result is a newly constructed, well insulated home that will be quite comfortable for the new homeowner.

Binghamton, NY - Dense Pack and Open Blow TruSoft Cellulose

This Binghamton, NY homeowner had recently purchased and moved in to this home, but our Home Comfort Evaluation determined that there wasn't a lot of insulation within the home. We proposed to air seal the attic, then dense pack the attic floor, as well as the stairs to the attic with our TruSoft Cellulose insulation. We also spray foamed 2 inches of closed cell spray foam to the rim joists, making it more comfortable for this homeowner throughout the year. We also did an open blow of TruSoft cellulose insulation to the remaining attic flat. We did an open blow of 18 inches of TruSoft cellulose in the attic for this customer. Now, she'll have warmer winters and cooler summers thanks to the measures we took to make her home more comfortable.

Binghamton, NY - Closed Cell Spray Foam

This Binghamton, NY homeowner had Fiberglass batts in the attic of his home, and was finding it was still rather chilly in the winter and overly hot in the summer months. There was a side attic that had staple up tiles, so it wouldn't be able to hold cellulose insulation so we proposed to spray the roof deck for this portion of the attic. 4 inches of our Closed Cell Spray Foam was sprayed to the roof deck, and 2 inches of closed cell spray foam was sprayed to the gable ends walls of the attic as well to ensure a tight seal so air can no longer escape out of the home. We also fireproofed over the foam, as an added measure of caution. The attic flat was also air sealed and had 12 inches of TruSoft cellulose blown in.

The main portion of the attic was completely open, so for this, we proposed to air seal the attic space and then do an open blow of our TruSoft cellulose insulation, where 12 inches of Cellulose was put down. This will help this customer stop the air from leaking out of the home, causing cold winters and hot summers. This homeowner will also see a decrease in his energy and fuel costs!
