This before/after slection comes from Bealton, VA. The room on the other side of this wall was hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Thermal imagery from the room side showed a ton of thermal bridging which was making the room uncomfortable.  Comfenergy used a closed cell spray foam to solve the problem.

A homeowner in Gainesville, VA had a broken basement window. Until recently, the standards for basement windows haven’t been very high. Builders paid attention to windows in the main part of the house, but typically chose cheap steel or wood-framed windows for the basement. As a result, standard basement windows have some significant problems. 

The Comfenergy team quickly replaced this window with an EverLast Window Insert. The EverLast Window Insert features double-pane, insulated glass, so you won't need to worry about major heat loss. Our installation crew will use the right techniques to eliminate air leaks through gaps around the window. 

A homeowner in Gainesville, VA had an upper floor that was always uncomfortable, especially in the summer. The AC ran constantly but it never felt cool enough in the rooms upstairs. Comfenergy removed the old inefficient attic insulation, air sealed, and blew in cellulose insulation, covering the ductwork in the attic as well. Now the top floor of this Gainesville house is much more comfortable and more energy efficient too.  

This Gainesville VA home was too loud for the homeowners liking.   Neighbors with loud tv's and music were unfortunately adding to the noise level.   They called Comfenergy to come try and help.  Our Home Performance Sales Pro Jason went out to visit and did a whole home inspection to look for solutions.  Jason was able to determine that the internal walls of the home had little to no insulation inside and were therefore allowing sound to pass through.   Our production team went out and performed our Dense Packing service.  They cut holes in the dry wall and packed the space inside with insulation that would help control and work to reduce the sound that was bothering the homeowners. The end result would be a quieter room.   

This Gainesville VA home was designed with Cantilevers on several sides of the home.  "Cantilever - a long projecting beam or girder fixed at only one end, used in construction."  In this case it resulted in part of the home allowing external air and temperatures to come into the unfinished basement, impacting the air quality, energy control and general comfort of the home.  Our Home Performance Sales Pro Pedro went out to do a full home inspection and recommended having the cantilever areas filled and insulated with spray foam.  Spray foam helped to seal up the cantilevers and prevented external air and allergens from being able to enter the home.  It also helped to keep the inside of the home more comfortable.
