Attic Insulation in Waldorf, Maryland

Attic air sealing and his insulation are critical when it comes to creating an efficient and comfortable home. Without it, you will end up working extra hard to try and heat and cool your house, all while throwing money out the window. Fortunately, Complete Home Solutions is an expert in this field and knows just what to do. For this client, we found the attic to be a major source of air leakage. How do we fix this? We set up a thermal barrier. We do this by applying caulk and spray foam to cracks and openings throughout the attic, installing soffits, and applying enough blown-in cellulose insulation to bring levels up to the BPI recommended standard. This customer now has a comfortable home where she can control how warm or cool she wants it throughout the year.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Waldorf, MD

Shakira's Crawl Space in her Waldorf, MD home was n poor shape and was beginning to affect the comfort and health of her home. She took a great first step by calling Complete Home Solutions, Southern, Maryland's leading crawl space experts. After a throughout review from our Home Comfort Specialist, it was determined that a full crawl space encapsulation would solve the problems Shakira was facing.  On the day of the encapsulation, our Home Comfort Technicians began by removing the old vapor barrier and insulation from the crawl space., this provided an empty area to begin the transformation. They then installed our Clean space vapor barrier which when bolted to the walls of the crawl space creates a seal that prevents any moisture or pest from entering the crawl from below. Following the installation of the vapor barrier, our Technicians used a 2 part closed cell spray foam to insulate and seal the walls. This process restricts any air from coming through the vents or cinder blocks in the crawl. The final step of this encapsulation is to install a dehumidifier that regulates the humidity to a consistent 50-55%. These improvements will not only help the temperatures on the first floor, they will also help with air quality throughout the home as well.

Incorrectly Installed Insulation in Waldorf, MD

This homeowner in Waldorf, MD felt that their home was not performing well and wasn't as energy efficient as possible.

Our home comfort specialist evaluated the home and found that the attic had incorrectly installed batt insulation that was causing air to leak outside the home from the attic.    When batt insulation is installed incorrectly, the insulation cannot achieve their rated R-value and this contributed to the homeowners feeling of discomfort and drafts!

Our production crews reinstalled the batt insulation correctly and installed blown-in TruSoft Cellulose Insulation overtop the batt insulation to make the home more airtight and energy efficient!

With the batt insulation installed correctly and new blown-in TruSoft Cellulose Insulation added to the attic, the homeowner is feeling more comfortable and has less drafty rooms and lower electric bills.

Crawl Space Repair in Waldorf, MD

This home in Waldorf was suffering from condensation issues and standing water in the crawl space.  Condensation in a crawl space can lead to mold and reduces the effectiveness of the insulation.

To fix this problem our Production Crews came in and removed all the wet insulation and replaced it with new fiberglass insulation. Once the new insulation was installed, a new vapor barrier was put in to seal off any excess moisture from the ground.

The homeowners are feeling many benefits from having these repairs performed - indoor air quality is much better because the vapor barrier keeps the dirty crawlspace air and water from coming into the crawl space.
