This homeowner in Severn, MD was experiencing high energy bills and needed to lower them ASAP! Hearing that, we knew we had to help right away, so we sent out Jonathan, our Home Comfort Specialist to go and evaluate where the problem areas are. Jonathan noticed that the homeowner had a very leaky home that could be remedied by taking all of the old insulation out and air sealing the top plates and any penetration within the attic floor. This will ensure that your conditioned air will stay in the conditioned areas of your home and not leak out into the attic. Once the homeowner agreed to move forward with the work, our Home Comfort Technicians arrived, lead by Brad, they started by removing all of the old insulation. Once removed, they then air sealed and installed baffles in the attic in order to let the attic breathe in order to prevent moisture and mold issues. Once the attic is prepped and ready, we bring the Insulation Truck to install the new cellulose insulation. Once installed, the job is complete and the homeowner can enjoy lower energy bills!

This homeowner called in stating that their water heater, which was possibly the original when the house was built, was dated and in desperate need of an upgrade. Lucky for them, we install and service water heaters! We started the process by having Ben, one of our Home Comfort Specialists, come out and take measurements of the current unit and go over different options of replacements that they can choose from. After they have chosen their new water heater, we get it ordered right away and once it arrives, our installers Jake and Josh will head back out to remove the old unit and install the new one. The removal and installation went smooth and to finish it off, we add pipe wrap onto the hot and cold water lines in order to make sure they are as efficient as possible! Their new water heater came with functions that their old one didn't have such as smart sensor leak detection, automatic water shutoff, and premium features such as vacation mode and guest mode to help you save money! All of this on top of having two heating elements that enable the water heater to recover quickly during periods of high demand meaning you'll never run out of hot water!

Nancy called in wanting a home energy audit and to inspect her house to see what we could do to make her house feel more comfortable. We sent Jonathan, our Home Comfort Specialist to go and perform a blower door test along with using an infrared camera to see where she has temperature issues. After conducting his tests, Jonathan recommended an attic insulation upgrade and spray foam her skylight in the attic. With that, our Home Comfort Technician, Brad and his crew went into the attic to begin working. They installed baffles and air sealed the entire attic. Before they blew the new insulation into the attic, they spray foamed the skylight, which during the infrared inspection, it was revealed that the skylight fluctuates in temperatures and is one of the reasons why she is getting temperature differences between rooms. One spray foamed, Jose and Jason installed new blown in insulation up to the recommended R-value for Nancy's area.
Nancy felt an immediate difference and loved the decrease in her energy bill!
James inquired about having issues with his upstairs not holding the set temperature consistently and called in asking if we could help him figure it out. We sent Jack, our Home Comfort Specialist, to his home and conducted an inspection as to why he was having those issues. Jack concluded that James' current insulation R-value was way lower than the recommended level for his area and recommended air sealing and installing new insulation to fix his home! After that, we sent our Home Comfort Technicians, JB and his crew, to alleviate James of his temperature issues. They started with air sealing the top plates in the attic to prevent air leakage and also installed baffles in order for the attic to breathe after we installed the cellulose. Once prepped and ready for insulation, Jose and Jason arrived to install the new blown-in cellulose insulation up to the proper R-value.
After we finished, James noticed that his upstairs held the temperature much better and felt more comfortable!
Sally was experiencing cold floors in the winter and humidity issues in the summer in her Dunkirk, MD home. She had had enough and decided to contact us and get a professional out right away to try and resolve her issue. Once James arrived, he noticed right away that she had no insulation or vapor barrier in her crawl space. After the diagnosis, we were able to get our Home Comfort Technicians out there to help alleviate her problems and once JB and his crew showed up, they went right to work! They started by removing all the debris from the crawl space and then adding a 20mm thick vapor barrier to block the humidity from rising from the ground. After the vapor barrier is installed, the crew added batt insulation onto the subfloor to make sure Sally's floors stay warm in the winter.
Sally noticed the difference right away and even inquired about having her attic insulated by us in the future!
